Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (Essential)

• Master’s degree in Zoology or Botany or Microbiology or Anthropology or Biology or Human Biology or Life Science or Biochemistry or Microbiology or Genetics or Biotechnology or Molecular Biology or Forensic Science with Zoology or Botany as one of the subjects or papers during all the three years of Bachelor of Science level from a recognized University.
• B.E./B.Tech in Biotechnology from a recognized University.

Note:

1. Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Competent Authority for reasons to be recorded in writings, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
2. Direct recruits would be required to successfully complete a mandatory induction training of at least two weeks duration as prescribed by the Competent Authority for completion of probation.

Experience

Essential: NIL
Desirable: NIL

Age Limit

Between 18 – 27 years.

(The upper age limit is relaxable for departmental candidate upto 40 years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government.)

Contractual employee of same department: Relaxation in upper age as a one-time measure up to the actual time spent as contractual employee of the same department, subject to a maximum of 5 years provided they have worked for at least 180 working days in that particular year in accordance with OM No. F.19(11)/2015/S-IV/1751-1756 dated 11/06/2019 issued by Services Department, Govt. of NCT of Delhi (Annexure-I).

Pay Scale

₹ 29,200 – 92,300/- (Pay Level – 5), Group: ‘C’, General Central Service, Non-Gazetted Non-Ministerial.

Examination Scheme (One Tier Technical)

The examination will be a One Tier Technical (I-T-T) exam of 2 hours duration, comprising 200 MCQs for 200 marks. The scheme is divided into two sections:

Section-A (100 Marks)

• General Awareness (20 Marks)
• General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability (20 Marks)
• Arithmetical & Numerical Ability (20 Marks)
• Test of Hindi Language & Comprehension (20 Marks)
• Test of English Language & Comprehension (20 Marks)

Section-B (100 Marks)

• MCQs of one mark each on the subject concerned as per the qualification prescribed for the post (100 Questions : 100 Marks).

Note: Negative Marking will be applicable, with a deduction of 0.25 marks for each wrong Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) answer.

How to Apply

1. Candidates must apply online through the official DSSSB website: https://dsssbonline.nic.in.
2. Registration on the DSSSB portal is a one-time exercise. Use the generated user ID and password for all applications.
3. The application window is from 16th June, 2026 (12.00 Noon) to 15th July, 2026 (Till 11:59 PM). The link will be disabled thereafter.
4. Candidates are advised to submit their applications well before the closing date to avoid last-minute technical issues.
5. Ensure all details in the online application form are correct before submission, as no changes/corrections will be allowed afterward.
6. Only online applications will be accepted. Applications received by post/hand/mail will be summarily rejected.
