Eligibility Criteria for Junior Engineer (Civil) (Post No. 20.1)

Essential Qualifications:

• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institution with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA (or First Class as defined by the awarding Institute/University).
• Minimum 03 (three) years of post-qualification experience in CPWD/State PWD, Centrally funded Institutions, or similar organized services/PSU, Statutory or Autonomous Organizations/Universities/reputed organisations under Central/State Government or equivalent experience in Private reputed National or International firms.
• Working Knowledge of drafting software like AutoCAD, and other latest Construction Management software.
• Proficiency and experience in working with computer office application like Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Age Limit and Relaxation

The upper age limit for Junior Engineer (Civil) is 35 years as of the last date of application (20.07.2026).

Age relaxation will be provided as per Government of India norms:

• SC/ST: 5 years against reserved posts only.
• OBC-NCL: 3 years against reserved posts only.
• PWD with a minimum 40% disability: 15 years for SC/ST, 13 years for OBC-NCL, and 10 years for others (maximum age not exceeding 56 years).
• Ex-servicemen: As per Government of India norms.
• Employees of IIT Hyderabad: No age limit for regular internal candidates.
• Currently serving contractual and outsourced employees of IIT Hyderabad: 5 years or by the length of service, whichever is less.

Application Fee

• A non-refundable fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) per post.
• Candidates applying for more than one post must pay Rs. 500/- per post separately.
• Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwD), EWS, Ex-Servicemen, and Women candidates are exempted from Fee payment.

Selection Process

The selection process for posts carrying Pay Level-7 and below (which includes Junior Engineer Civil – Pay Level 6) consists of the following stages:

1. Stage-I: Submission of Applications
   • Applications must be submitted online through the Institute’s recruitment portal.
   • Candidates must ensure they meet eligibility criteria before applying.
   • All applicants, based on online application information, will be permitted to appear for the selection process.
2. Stage-II: Preliminary Written Test / Skill Test / Trade Test
   • Depending on the number of applications, the process may include:
     • A Preliminary Written Test (screening), followed by a Skill Test/Trade Test (qualifying), and a Final Written Test; OR
     • A Skill Test/Trade Test (qualifying), followed by a Final Written Test.
   • Preliminary Written Test (if conducted) will be screening in nature.
   • Skill Test/Trade Test will be qualifying in nature.
3. Stage-III: Final Written Test and Document Verification
   • Final selection will be based on merit in the Final Written Test.
   • Document verification will be conducted for shortlisted candidates. Original certificates/documents are required.
   • Final selection is strictly based on merit among candidates who successfully complete document verification.

How to Apply

Candidates are required to submit ONLINE applications only. Printout of the ONLINE application form is not required to be submitted to the Institute. OFFLINE applications will be summarily rejected.

Follow these steps:

1. Register on the online application portal using a valid and active email ID.
2. Fill in personal information, including uploading a recent passport-size color photograph and signature.
3. Enter educational qualifications and upload relevant certificates in PDF format (max 1 MB).
4. Provide employment details and upload supporting documents (max 1 MB).
5. Upload any additional relevant certificates.
6. Review all details carefully and accept the Declaration.
7. Upon final submission, a PDF copy of the application form will be generated and sent to the registered email ID.

The cut-off date for reckoning Upper Age limit, qualification, and Post Qualification Experience is the last date of submission of online application i.e. 20.07.2026.
