Full Job Description
State Bank of India (SBI) has released a notification for the engagement of Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961, for the year 2026-27. This recruitment drive by the Central Recruitment & Promotion Department aims to fill a total of 7150 Apprentice posts across various states and districts in India. Candidates holding a Graduation degree from a recognized University/Institute are eligible to apply. The online application process starts on May 19, 2026, with the last date for application being June 15, 2026. Selected apprentices will receive a stipend of Rs. 15,000/- per month.

Vacancy Details
A total of 7150 Apprentice posts are available. The vacancies are distributed state/UT-wise and district-wise across India. A detailed breakdown of seats by State/UT, local language, and district-wise training seats is provided in the official notification PDF.
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification (as on 01.04.2026): Graduation from a recognized University/ Institute.
- Age Limit (as on 01.04.2026): Minimum 20 years and maximum 28 years. Candidates must have been born not later than 01.04.2006 and not earlier than 02.04.1998 (both days inclusive). Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India guidelines for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates.
Stipend/Benefit
The apprentices are eligible for a stipend of Rs.15,000/- per month for the engagement period of one year. They are not eligible for any other allowances/benefits.
Selection Process
The selection for engagement of apprentices will be based on the basis of:
- Online Written Test
- Test of Local Language
Online Written Test Structure:

There will be negative marking (1/4th of the mark assigned for the question) for wrong answers.
Local Language Test:
Candidates applying for training seats in a particular state must be proficient (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) in one of the specified local languages of that State. Candidates producing 10th or 12th standard mark sheets/certificates evidencing having studied the specified opted local language will not be required to undergo the language test.

- General/OBC/EWS: Rs. 300/-
- SC/ST/PwBD: NIL
